As pharmacists’ roles expand into new clinical areas, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has partnered with NICE to host a series of educational webinars from Thursday, April 22.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), a world leader in guidance development, is well-known for publishing comprehensive range of evidence-based resources to improve health and social care.
The webinars are designed to give pharmacists, whatever stage they are at in their career, the support to use NICE guidance in their practice.
The sessions will help the attendees who will hear directly from NICE about updated practice recommendations as well as practical tips that can be applied and implemented at work.
Gail Fleming, education and professional development director at RPS, said: “The sessions will promote the important work that NICE do and support pharmacists from all sectors to stay up to date in their practice. When we asked our members last year about CPD topics, this was one that was overwhelmingly popular, so it is a real pleasure to see this initiative come to fruition.”
Eric Power, programme director, centre for guidelines at NICE, said: “I am very excited that NICE and RPS are working together to support pharmacists to get the most from NICE’s guidance.
“Pharmacists’ roles are expanding into new clinical areas and NICE guidance can support them to provide high quality care in these new roles. The event will also provide opportunity for the pharmacy profession and NICE to build stronger communication links for the future.”
