First-time buyers swoop in for Allcures Plc's Swanley Pharmacy

Swanley Pharmacy in Kent

A husband and wife couple have embarked on their journey as first time pharmacy owners after buying Swanley Pharmacy in Kent.

Located in Swanley Shopping Centre, the pharmacy dispenses an average of 10,000 items per month.

Ashish and Devi Patel, who already have a part-share in another pharmacy in South London, plansto improve the business’s services offering and increase the over-the-counter products available.

The pharmacy had previously been owned by Allcures Plc since 2015 and was brought to market as part of a strategic divestment.

“The sale of this busy community pharmacy demonstrates the demand from the independent market for corporate disposals,” said Mark Page, director – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, who oversaw the sales process.

“We received multiple offers for this volume pharmacy, which saw increased item numbers due to the recent closure of the neighbouring Boots Chemist in 2023.

“Mr and Mrs Patel are buying this growing pharmacy at an ideal time, and I’m sure they will add their personal touch. I wish them all the very best in their new venture.”

Swanley Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
