The Independent Pharmacies Association (IPA) has announced that chief executive Dr Leyla Hannbeck is taking on the role of executive chair.
The change of guard follows the departure of David Vanns, who has stepped down as chair after two and a half years, according to media reports.
IPA confirmed Dr Hannbeck will remain in her role as chief executive alongside this new responsibility.
The IPA board thanked Mr Vanns for his services and for strengthening the organisation’s advocacy work.
The board has also appointed long-standing member Dev Shah as non-executive chair.
