DH extends supply disruption alerts of Fluoxetine 30mg and Levothyroxine 12.5mcg

The Department of Health and Social Care (DH) has extended supply disruption alert issued for Fluoxetine 30mg capsules and Levothyroxine 12.5mcg tablets.

The serious shortage protocol (SSP) for Fluoxetine 30mg capsules was previously expected to expire on March 12 but the end date has been further extended until May 17.

Also, the SSP010 for Levothyroxine 12.5mcg tablets was previously expected to expire on March 12, but the end date has been further extended to March 19.

SSP07: Fluoxetine 30mg capsules This SSP has been varied – the revised end date for SSP07 is now 17th May 2021
SSP010: Levothyroxine 12.5mcg tablets This SSP has been varied – the revised end date for SSP010 is now 19th March 2021

 

Reimbursement will be made for the medicine supplied in accordance with the SSP and not the originally prescribed medicine.

The reimbursement price will account for VAT payment. Supply in accordance with the SSP will result in the following fees being paid to the contractor

One Single Activity fee (currently £1.27)
One SSP fee (£5.35)
