Well Pharmacy has announced the promotion of Ifti Khan to the role of pharmacy superintendent after Janice Perkins decided to leave the company.
Perkins will be leaving the chain this month after a 20-year-long service. She will be handing over her responsibilities to Khan, who has been part of her leadership team for the last decade.

Khan has worked in community pharmacy for nearly 30 years, starting his career as a pharmacist. During his 16 years at Well, Khan’s career has gone from strength to strength in key roles.
“Over the last 18 months, Khan’s played a leading role in Well’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic creating communications, risk assessments and policies to help protect colleagues, patients and communities,” the company said.
Outside of his responsibilities at Well, Khan is vice-chair and governance lead for Greater Manchester LPC, the country’s largest local pharmaceutical council. He holds multiple positions across the LPC and is also chair of the governance sub-group, as well as a committed member of the HR, finance, and services sub-groups.
Khan is also a member of the pharmacy provider board and primary care provider board at Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership.
Khan commented: “It’s been an honour working as part of Janice’s leadership team for the last 10 years and I am thrilled to step up as the new pharmacy superintendent for Well.
“I am also excited to be joining the executive committee to drive our business forward and represent the views of our pharmacy teams in these important business forums. Over the next few years, we have a unique opportunity to build a seamless experience across our digital and community pharmacies to deliver better patient outcomes and continue to take pressure off the NHS, I am confident we have the right plans in place to build the best pharmacy experience in the UK.”
