Pharmacist Support launches dual-focused fundraising campaign

As Remember a Charity Week begins, Pharmacist Support is encouraging supporters to consider leaving a gift in their will

Pharmacist Support, the independent charity dedicated to supporting pharmacists and their families, has launched a new fundraising campaign with a dual focus: addressing the immediate needs of pharmacists’ families and securing future support for the pharmacy community.

This campaign is timed to coincide with Remember a Charity Week (September 9-15) and World Pharmacists Day (September 25), aiming to underscore the importance of both immediate donations and long-term legacy giving.

World Pharmacists Day is dedicated to celebrating the vital contributions of pharmacists and recognising the challenges they face.

This year, Pharmacist Support is urging the pharmacy sector and its supporters to make a donation that will have an immediate impact on those in need.

With growing concerns over rising levels of stress, mental health challenges, and financial difficulties within the profession, the charity emphasises that every contribution will help continue their crucial support services for those facing hardship.

As part of Remember a Charity Week, Pharmacist Support is encouraging supporters to consider leaving a gift in their will.

The charity noted that even a small allocation, such as one per cent of one's estate can make a profound and lasting impact.

“Legacy giving is a powerful way to ensure that future generations of pharmacists will continue to receive the support they need, no matter what challenges they may face,” it said.

To facilitate this, the charity has introduced a new online will-writing service, making it easier for supporters to include Pharmacist Support in their estate planning.

Danielle Hunt, Chief Executive of Pharmacist Support, highlighted that the charity’s mission is to “ensure that no one in our pharmacy family faces challenging times without us by their side.”

“As the demand for our services continues to grow, this campaign is crucial in ensuring we can meet the immediate needs of our pharmacy family while also securing the future support for generations to come.

“Every donation, no matter the size, helps us provide essential services that make a real difference in the lives of our pharmacy family,” she said.
