The Locum App, a digital platform that facilitates integrated locum booking and rota management services, today (Jan 27) announced that it has partnered with an independent chain of community pharmacies in its first step towards a national rollout.

Jardines Pharmacy will use the award-winning app to schedule its staff and manage rotas in all its branches across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire.

Reece Samani, founder and CEO of The Locum App, said: “We are really pleased that Jardines has become the first independent chain to start using The Locum App. This is another major step forward in the rollout of our platform and builds directly on the work we have put in to perfect our service and establish our brand.

“We are looking forward to seeing how our platform makes it easier for Jardines’ staff to view their schedules and for locums to book into available shifts, and we believe the shared ethos of the two companies will make this partnership a fruitful one.”

Samani hopes that the app will redefine how pharmacies find locums and integrate their rotas using just one platform.

Krishnan Modi, director of Jardines Pharmacy, said: “This partnership with The Locum App is a significant development for Jardines, which means we can build on the relationships we have with our staff and our locums. Our shifts will now be posted through The Locum App’s platform and we would encourage any interested locums to sign up.”

For locum pharmacists, the platform means that they would no longer need to register with multiple agencies and pharmacies, and spare them the hassle of spending hours keeping track of shifts and updating compliance. They need to register just once and will receive notifications when their favoured shifts become available.

For pharmacies, a pooled locum database means a greater likelihood of covering shifts, and The Locum App platform provides a more convenient way to organise both permanent and temporary staff.
