The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has confirmed an upward retrospective pricing adjustments for nine products after NHS list prices were not updated on the NHS dictionary of medicines and devices (dm+d) when new prices took effect.

The adjustments follow checks carried out by Community Pharmacy England’s (CPE) Dispensing and Supplying team, which asked NHSBSA to investigate and rectify prescription payments for periods when the incorrect prices were listed on dm+d.

The affected products include three Aveeno cream preparations, two metaX products, Pro D3 capsules, Two K Yo semi–solid food preparations and PKU express plus15 powder. The price adjustments range from £0.18 to £13.78 per product, depending on the difference between the actual and incorrectly recorded list prices.

The retrospective-pricing-adjustments cover prescriptions dispensed between April and October 2026, depending on the product.

NHSBSA is re–pricing the affected products. Any upward adjustments will be applied to payments received by affected pharmacy contractors.

NHSBSA will also write to affected pharmacy owners to confirm the adjustments and identify the payment schedules in which they will appear.

CPE highlighted that product pricing information held on dm+d informs the reimbursement arrangements for several products dispensed against NHS prescriptions.

CPE continues to urge the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHSBSA to introduce processes to improve the accuracy and quality of product and pricing information held on dm + d, alongside stronger requirements for suppliers to maintain their product listings.
