Rowlands Pharmacy has joined the consumer healthcare organisation Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB) as a Retailer Regulatory Member.

Commenting on the development PAGB CEO Michelle Riddalls said, “We’re delighted to welcome Rowlands into PAGB membership. They bring a strong heritage of trusted pharmacy expertise and a significant presence across the UK. We look forward to working together to support the consumer healthcare sector.”

L. Rowlands & Co represents Rowlands Pharmacy - one of the UK’s leading community pharmacy chains, and Numark, the UK’s largest pharmacy membership organisation, supporting thousands of independent pharmacies.

The Retailer Regulatory membership category allows retailers to stay up to date on both policy and regulatory matters that affect the whole industry, as well as maintain awareness around supply and maximising business impact.

Rowlands superintendent pharmacist Stephen Thomas said, “Rowlands Pharmacy has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of patients and communities. As our product portfolio grows and the regulatory landscape for medicines and self-care continues to evolve, joining PAGB is an important step. It will help us strengthen governance and contribute to shaping policy that supports responsible self-care and access to medicines.”

Established in 1810, Rowlands is the UK’s longest-standing chain of community pharmacies and now operates more than 300 pharmacies nationwide.

PAGB represents manufacturers of branded over-the-counter medicines, self-care medical devices and food supplements.
