The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education is offering a respiratory clinical assessment skills Workshop for pharmacy professionals from October 25 to February 2026.
This full-day, medic-led programme is designed to equip pharmacists with the knowledge and confidence to undertake clinical examinations and take detailed patient histories in a respiratory context.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to describe respiratory anatomy and physiology, recognise common signs and symptoms, apply structured history-taking, practice examinations, and deliver person-centered care.
After strengthening their assessment skills, pharmacists can prepare for evolving roles, reduce pressure on other providers, and improve patient care.
This workshop comes at a pivotal time.
From September 2026, all newly qualified pharmacists in the UK will be registered as independent prescribers, integrating further into clinical pathways.
Initiatives such as “Ask your pharmacist” and NHS Pharmacy First are also directing more people with respiratory concerns to community pharmacies.
