A family has sold two of its pharmacies in Liverpool, Merseyside to a first-time buyer for an undisclosed sum, according to Christie & Co.

Richard Clitherow Pharmacy on Dovecot Place and M Saleem Dispensing Chemists on Finch Road are standard-hours pharmacies, dispensing approximately 10,500 and 3,900 items per month respectively, and the Saleem family had owned them for nearly three decades.

The businesses were originally run by Mohammed Saleem before being taken over by his son, Azhar.

The family wanted to sell the two branches as part of a succession and retirement plan. They have, however, retained Merton Chemist in Bootle, Liverpool.

The pharmacies have been purchased by Faraz Cheema of Vital Meds Liverpool Ltd, a first-time buyer who plans to expand the pharmacies’ service offering.

The sale process was facilitated by Tom Young, Senior Business Agent - Pharmacy at Christie & Co, and the funding was sourced through Christie Finance.
