Masked robbers raided a Boots outlet on Hornchurch High Street in London and decamped with £10,000 worth of stock.
However, their runaway vehicle was soon intercepted by the police, and the stolen goods were returned to the store.
The incident happened on Wednesday and a video doing rounds on social media shows that the gang appeared brazen.
They cleared the shelves and took away stolen goods in shopping bags and fled.
However their vehicle was intercepted around half an hour later on Southend road and the suspects were arrested.
The police said that they arrested three men, one aged 37 and two aged 46, and two women, aged 32 and 41, and they remain in custody.
All stolen items believed valued around £10,000 were returned to the store.
