Amazon files trademark for Pharmacy in UK

E-commerce giant Amazon has filed applications to trademark ‘Amazon Pharmacy’ in three countries, including the UK.

The company has filed to trademark in the UK, Canada and Australia on January 9, CNBC reported.

According to the report, this is considered as one of the initial steps to begin the sale of prescription drugs outside the US.

Amazon acquired online pharmacy PillPack in 2018 and changed its branding to ‘PillPack by Amazon Pharmacy’.

More details about Amazon’s latest move is yet to be revealed.
