BREAKING: Prescription drugs, cash stolen from Taunton pharmacy

Police have launched an investigation after thieves broke into a Taunton pharmacy and stole prescription-only medicines and cash.

Avon and Somerset Police said the thieves entered the pharmacy in Lisieux Way through the rear fire door overnight on Sunday 1 to Monday 2 March.

The stolen drugs were mainly painkillers, but also included sleeping tablets and medicines used to treat hyperactivity disorder, epilepsy and mental illness.

The pharmacy had to destroy it flu vaccines stock and auto-injector pens for diabetes patients as the thieves turned off a fridge during the break-in.

Police have urged anyone, who either witnessed the incident or has any information regarding the incident, to call them on 101, quoting reference number 5220050787.
