Community pharmacy contractors are required to submit their completed New Medicine Service (NMS) summary data to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) every quarter, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) said in an update.
This requirement was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it has now been re-instated.
Therefore, the contractors must submit data to the NHSBSA within 10 working days from the last day of the quarter the data refers to (last day of June, September, December and March).
Meanwhile, the PSNC will issue reminder communications nearer to these deadlines.
The NMS was the fourth Advanced Service to be added to the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF). It commenced on 1st October 2011.
The service provides support for people with long-term conditions newly prescribed a medicine to help improve medicines adherence; it is focused on specific patient groups and conditions.
