RPS launches Workforce Wellbeing Survey
The survey aims to better understand their mental health, well-being, and expectations of workplace support.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has launched its 2025 Workforce Wellbeing Survey, and the focus is on pharmacy students, foundation trainees and early career pharmacists.

The survey, being conducted in partnership with Pharmacist Support, the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) and the Pharmacy Schools Council (PhSC) aims to better understand their mental health, wellbeing and expectations of workplace support.

The student survey is co-designed with BPSA and PhSC and explores wellbeing, study experiences and expectations of workplace support.

The trainee and early career pharmacist survey focuses on workplace conditions, mental health and support needs during early career stages. Both surveys are open until 5 pm, 2 December.

The survey responses will help partners understand current wellbeing, study and workplace experiences; identify barriers and enablers to progression and job satisfaction; and shape targeted wellbeing resources, services, and advocacy.

Insights from previous surveys have shaped RPS wellbeing programmes and resources, and informed Pharmacist Support initiatives such as their ACTNow campaign, counselling services and leadership training.

RPS President Professor Claire Anderson said, "People experience different pressures at all stages of their pharmacy career and wellbeing should be a priority right from the very start. This survey will help ensure the voices of students, trainees and early career pharmacists are heard and that meaningful support is provided where it’s needed most."

Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt said, “By collaborating on this year’s Workforce Wellbeing Survey, we can gain a clearer understanding of the challenges facing students, trainees and early career pharmacists. These insights will be vital in shaping the preventative, evidence-based support and resources we provide.”
