Three men have been jailed at St Albans Crown Court after almost £1 million worth of high-demand weight-loss drugs were stolen from a pharmaceutical distribution facility in Hertfordshire.
On 24 January, a healthcare distribution centre on Handley Page Way was broken into by Mark Harding and Peter Costello and they stole several boxes of Mounjaro from a refrigerated storage unit.
The pair returned and decamped with more than 70 additional boxes of the medication. They were accompanied on the second run by Robert Townsend, who acted as a lookout.
The stolen pharmaceutical products have not been recovered.
The group was quickly identified by detectives through a combination of phone records, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, and CCTV data.
Simultaneous police warrants executed on Wednesday, 11 February, led to the arrest of all three men.
The judge sentenced all three men to five years and three months in prison for the primary burglary charge.
