With an increasing number of countries being added to the UK’s ‘green list’ by the government, LloydsPharmacy has announced the launch of a 15-minute lateral flow testing service for those travelling or attending large events.
The company said the test would “help in providing the individual with the results and certificate in just 15 minutes straight”.
Evidence from internet search data showed a 1,500 per cent increase for people looking for lateral flow test (LFT) certificates.
With the start of Wimbledon Tennis Championships, searches for “Wimbledon lateral flow tests” too soared by 500 per cent, the pharmacy chain said in a press release issued today (June 29).
Pharmacist at the chain Anshu Kaura added: “We still encourage regular testing at home with the free NHS lateral flow kits but for those travelling or attending large events may need something more suitable; which includes evidence of a negative test result. Hence, an in-store Covid-19 testing service that can help in providing a named and dated certificate to customers.
“With this new service, we hope it helps the local communities in attending the events that are going ahead this summer, as well as support those looking to travel.”
