The UK wants to be able to carry out millions of Covid-19 tests a day, known as Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s “moonshot” plan for mass testing, but doing so depends on new technology being developed, said health secretary Matt Hancock.

“We do have a goal to get to the millions of tests a day when we can, it’s dependent on new technology,” Hancock told lawmakers on Tuesday (September 15).
