Lupin Limited has launched Formoflo-G MDI, the world's first fixed-dose triple combination metered-dose inhaler (MDI) for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India after approval by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).

The inhaler combines Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate and Fluticasone Propionate for the long-term management and treatment of moderate to severe COPD.

The product is available as a twice-daily, single-strength fixed dose. It could help more than 55 million people living with COPD in India, a condition that remains a leading cause of death and disability.

Nilesh Gupta, Managing Director, Lupin, said, "As respiratory diseases continue to impact millions across India, access to effective therapies remains critical. Formoflo-G MDI reflects our commitment to addressing unmet patient needs through differentiated, high-quality therapies. By combining innovation with accessibility, we aim to improve outcomes for patients living with respiratory diseases."

Rajeev Sibal, President – India Region Formulations, Lupin, said, “Formoflo-G MDI marks an important addition to our respiratory portfolio, bringing together three established therapies in a single inhaler. It strengthens Lupin’s respiratory portfolio and provides healthcare professionals with an important treatment option for appropriate COPD patients. It reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality therapies that help improve patient outcomes."

Triple-combination inhalers are widely used in both the US and the UK for COPD, though they use different brand names and slightly different active drug combinations.
