BREAKING: Three more medicines banned from parallel export

Lopinavir + Ritonavir, Chloroquine phosphate and Azathioprine have all been added to the list of medicines carrying a parallel export ban.

The restrictions will be in place from tomorrow, February 26.

The government first announced the ban on parallel export of 23 medicines in October to prevent shortages and later added nine more to the list including Ranitidine and MMR vaccines.

The list also includes Adrenaline auto-injectors, Hepatitis B vaccine, Hepatitis B (rDNA) suspension injection, Misoprostol, Pneumococcal Polysaccharide vaccine, and Hepatitis A and B vaccine.

In December, DHSC has lifted the ban on Alogliptin.

Any manufacturer or wholesaler found guilty of parallel exporting of one or more of the listed medicines could face immediate licence suspension.
