The Community Pharmacy Workforce Development Group (CPWDG), a cross-sector working group hosted by the Company Chemists’ Association (CCA), has launched a website to guide students and promote careers in community pharmacy.

The website offers information and resources for students, parents and teachers about the wide range of career opportunities in community pharmacy.

It has a compilation of video case studies and blogs to allow visitors to hear directly from young professionals already working in the field.

Marc Donovan, chair of the CPWDG said: “Community pharmacy offers a range of exciting and fast paced career opportunities, on the front line of health care.

“A career in community pharmacy is extremely rewarding and whilst no two days are the same in community pharmacy, everyday pharmacy colleagues make a real difference in their patients’ lives. Whether that be by offering expert medicines advice, providing clinical services or acting as a friendly and supportive member of the wider health care team.

“We are delighted to be launching this website to share our passion and enthusiasm for community pharmacy and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of colleagues to the profession.”
