DH extends Salazopyrin 500mg supply shortage notice until Feb 26

The Department of Health and Social Care (DH) on Friday (Jan 22) extended Serious Shortage Protocol (SSP) issued for SalazopyrinEN-Tabs 500mg (SSP08).

The SSP08 for Salazopyrin 500mg tablets was previously expected to expire on January 22. However, the expiry date of SSP has been further extended to February 26.

SSP05: Fluoxetine 10mg tablets
March 31, 2021
SSP07: Fluoxetine 30mg capsules March 12, 2021

 

Reimbursement is for the medicine supplied in accordance with the SSP and not the originally prescribed medicine. The reimbursement price will account for VAT payment.

One Single Activity fee (currently £1.27)
One SSP fee (£5.35)
