Haleon, a leading consumer healthcare company, has appointed Jo Cooper as the new general manager for the UK and Ireland, effective 1st January 2025.

With a decade of experience in senior leadership roles within the consumer healthcare sector, Cooper has a strong track record in accelerating business growth across several international markets.

Prior to this appointment, she served as head of commercial excellence for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Latin America (EMEA&LATAM) regions at Haleon for over three years.

In that role, she was responsible for revenue growth strategy, category management, shopper marketing, and retail partner leadership across Haleon’s multi-brand portfolio.

She also led the global net revenue management acceleration programme, working closely with digital and tech teams.

Cooper’s career began with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK), where she joined as pharmacy and field director in 2013.

She went on to hold several positions, including grocery and digital commerce sales director and commercial excellence director, before joining Haleon in 2021 following the company’s de-merger.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Cooper said: “I am thrilled to take on the role of leading Haleon’s UK and Ireland business, my home market.

“Having experienced first-hand the exceptional talent and dedication within the UK and Ireland team and Northern Europe business unit, I am eager to collaborate and drive the next level of growth together, continuing to develop our vision for delivering consumer-first healthcare.

“I’m proud to be part of Haleon and am looking forward to this exciting new chapter.”

Jon Workman, general manager Northern Europe, Haleon, commended Cooper’s outstanding experience and incredible track record in strong leadership positions.

“After playing such a critical role in delivering the EMEA&LATAM commercial agenda over the last three years, her experience, relationship with retail partners and growth mindset is perfectly placed to continue to drive the momentum of the UK and Ireland business into the next phase,” he said.
