A specialist medical travel insurance provider has joined forces with Pharmacy2U in an alliance aimed at providing guidance and support to travellers living with medical conditions.

The partnership will see Pharmacy2U’s superintendent pharmacist, Phil Day, become Just Travel Cover’s medical consultant and brand ambassador. He will contribute to the specialist broker’s website with a series of guides to answer questions about travelling with health conditions including diabetes, heart conditions and cancer.

Day, who became a qualified Independent Prescriber in 2011, was also the lead pharmacist in a University College London study to assess the benefits of pharmacist-led interventions, for patients taking long term medicines.

Dale Robinson, marketing manager at Just Travel Cover, said: “We’ve been working with Pharmacy2U for some time, calling on their expert knowledge and guidance for our customers, many of whom are living with medical conditions; I’m delighted that Phil is now part of that mix by publishing online guides that will help us provide useful resources to our clients and provide a real voice of authority.”

Day commented: “The number of people living with medical conditions is rising, but that shouldn’t stop them enjoying holidays and we know that getting appropriate medical Travel Insurance is a vital part of that, now more than ever”.

Mr Robinson added: “We hope that by providing people with reliable, trustworthy and credible information about travelling with pre-existing conditions they can make smart decisions before their holiday and during it”.

Just Travel Cover compare prices and cover from a range of specialist insurers and underwriters, providing Travel Insurance for all ages and hundreds of medical conditions.
