Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday visited a local pharmacy in his West London constituency of Uxbridge.

The visit to McParlands Pharmacy was organised by the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIMp) to showcase community pharmacy’s contribution to the health and wellbeing of the local community.

It’s CEO, Leyla Hannbeck, invited the Prime Minister to witness first-hand pharmacy provisions at work within his own constituency.

Hannbeck welcomed the prime minister at the AIMp member pharmacy

“It was a real pleasure to meet with Leyla Hannbeck, the CEO of the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies, and Corrin McParland and the team at McParlands Pharmacy to learn more about the important work of community pharmacies in helping to keep local people fit and healthy,” PM Johnson said.

“We discussed how the Pharmacy’s involvement in the consultation service has already benefitted a number of my constituents. This has helped relieve pressure on GPs and A&E departments, as well as giving people the treatment they need as quickly and as close to home as possible”.

AIMp wanted to showcase the contribution of Community Pharmacy to the health and wellbeing of the local community

Hannbeck said by inviting the Prime Minister into a local pharmacy, the AIMp wanted to showcase the work and contribution Community Pharmacy makes to the health and wellbeing of the local community.

“We are delighted we have been able to showcase community pharmacy to the Prime Minister on his visit. I am really grateful to Mr Johnson for accepting my invitation and making time, during his busy schedule to visit the McParland Pharmacy and enable us to talk about community pharmacy provision,” she added.
