AstraZeneca UK Limited is recalling the batch of Bricanyl 0.5mg/ml (PL 17901/0112) solution for injection or infusion as a precautionary measure due to out of specification results for a routinely tested known impurity during stability testing.
It has advised the healthcare professionals to stop supplying the above batch immediately.
The company has also suggested to quarantine all remaining stock and return it to the supplier using the supplier’s approved process.
The recipients of this medicines recall should bring it to the attention of relevant contacts by copy of this notice. NHS regional teams are asked to inform this to the community pharmacists and dispensing general practitioners for information.
The batch is all set to expire this year in the month of August and was first distributed in the month of November of the year 2019.
