Updated Pharmacy Access Scheme: Contractors get letters on eligibility

Share post:

As the updated Pharmacy Access Scheme (PhAS) commences from January 2022, community pharmacy contractors are receiving letters from the NHS Business Services Authority regarding their eligibility and payment details.

The letters will also have a link to the distance mapping tool to check the distance calculation and to request a review if a contractor believes that their pharmacy should be eligible.

The revised PhAS is aimed at supporting patient access to isolated, eligible pharmacies. It is funded to no more than £20 million from the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF).

Eligibility for PhAS continues to be based on both the dispensing volume of the pharmacy, and distance from the next nearest pharmacy.

The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) reports that it will hold a webinar for contractors about the updated scheme on September 21 at 7.30pm.
