People across England can now use their existing NHS login details to register with Pharmacy2U and benefit from free delivery of their prescriptions.
The update means the NHS App’s 15 million active users can use the same login details to sign up for UK's leading online pharmacy, giving them greater choice and control over how they manage and receive their medication.
Once they register, patients can access Pharmacy2U services including free tracked delivery to their door, personalised reminders to re-order, prescription status updates and order tracking.
Patients can either sign into Pharmacy2U directly using their NHS login and request NHS prescriptions directly through the Pharmacy2U website or app, or, after registration they can continue to order repeat prescriptions within the NHS App.
In both cases, the patient’s GP will review and authorise medication requests before an electronic prescription is sent securely to Pharmacy2U. It is then checked, dispensed and delivered free and fully tracked to the patient’s door.
Pharmacy2U Superintendent Pharmacist Phil Day said: “We’re proud to strengthen our longstanding relationship with the NHS and make it even easier for people to take control of their healthcare.
“Millions of people are already using the NHS App to manage their health, and using their NHS login with Pharmacy2U makes using our service feel familiar, quick and secure.
“Ultimately, this is about giving patients greater choice and control over how they manage their repeat prescriptions, with the reassurance that once their GP has approved their medication, Pharmacy2U can take care of the rest, so it’s delivered free and fully tracked to their door.”
NHS App usage continues to grow with more than 15.4 million people logging in July 2026, up 26% year on year.
Around 6.1 million people used the app to order a repeat prescription and about half a million used its prescription tracking service.
The development comes 25 years after Pharmacy2U was awarded a pilot contract for the electronic transfer of NHS prescriptions in 2001, playing a pivotal role in testing and developing the NHS Electronic Prescription Service.
