US digital health provider Hims & Hers Health, Inc. has officially completed its acquisition of Eucalyptus, a move that significantly deepens its market share and clinical infrastructure within the United Kingdom.
Eucalyptus is a major Australian digital health and telehealth startup, widely known for introducing specialised direct-to-consumer digital clinics such as Juniper for women's weight loss and Pilot for men's health.
Hims & Hers had previously acquired European telehealth platforms ZAVA and Livewell, and this latest deal consolidates its active presence across the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, and Japan.
The health and wellness platform noted that this aggressive international expansion will contribute significantly to its long-term target of achieving $6.5 billion in revenue and $1.3 billion in Adjusted EBITDA by 2030.
Andrew Dudum, co-founder and CEO of Hims & Hers, said, “The future of health isn’t inside of a doctor’s office. It will be integrated into the rhythm of your daily life, anticipating issues before you even see them, and adapting with you.
“Welcoming the Eucalyptus team into Hims & Hers gives us the foundation to become an everyday health companion to people all over the world and a partner to other healthcare innovators who want to build long-term relationships with consumers."
Eucalyptus has reportedly served more than 850,000 customers to date.
This announcement coincides with major public sector reforms in the UK, as the NHS moves forward with plans to introduce a unified single patient record.
Concurrently, the UK Parliament is debating the NHS Modernisation Bill, which heavily explores how artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure can be leveraged to streamline health services across the country.
Legal dispute
Earlier this year, the platform came under intense scrutiny when Novo Nordisk filed a patent infringement lawsuit over Hims' plans to offer a cheaper, compounded oral version of the blockbuster weight-loss drug Wegovy.
However, the legal dispute was successfully resolved after Hims & Hers abruptly withdrew its compounded oral offering.
The two companies subsequently entered into a major commercial collaboration, allowing Hims & Hers to officially sell authentic, FDA-approved branded Wegovy and Ozempic lines on its direct-to-consumer platform while phasing out related compounded drug advertisements.
