Continuing expansion, Well Pharmacy acquires Bridge Pharmacy

Continuing its expansion, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy chain Well Pharmacy has acquired Bridge Pharmacy on Bridge Street in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire.

This follows recent acquisition of Treharris Pharmacy in South Wales.

Lauding the care and service offered by Bridge Pharmacy to the local community of Newcastle Emlyn Louis Purchase, operations director of Well Pharmacy said: “We share the same mission – we are here for the wellbeing of our patients and customers, providing access to vital healthcare advice, services and medication.

“Our vision is to provide the best community pharmacy experience in the UK and by bringing the expertise of Bridge Pharmacy team into our business we are now one step closer to achieving that goal. We hope our new colleagues will continue to progress and grow their clinical skills and careers even further by being part of Well Pharmacy.”

Sam Ghafar, regional operations manager for South, West and North Wales of Well Pharmacy, said: “We will be retaining the brilliant and skilled pharmacy colleagues so we can continue to deliver the same outstanding patient care the local community have come to expect.

“By joining Well, the pharmacy team will benefit from moving to the most advanced dispensing model for bricks and mortar pharmacies in the UK, which means the pharmacist and team will be freed up to spend more time to care for patients driving better health outcomes for the local community.”

Further, Well will rebrand Bridge Pharmacy and prioritise onboarding the new pharmacy team into the Well business.
