The Department of Health and Social Care (DH) has decided to reimburse prescriptions for Fludroxycortide 4micrograms/square cm tape 7.5cm (20cm) at £13.67.
Following representation made by the PSNC, the DH has decided that the prescriptions for Fludroxycortide 4micrograms/square cm tape 7.5cm (20cm) submitted for payment with December 2020 and January 2021 bundles will be reimbursed at £13.67 instead of £9.26.
“…Payment for December 2020 and January 2021 prescriptions for this drug will reflect the above re-determination and hence will not be as per the published Drug Tariffs,” the Pharmacy Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) has said.
“The changes do not affect prescriptions dispensed in February because the correct reimbursement price of £13.67 is already indicated in the February 2021 Drug Tariff.”
In addition, the DH has also retrospectively determined the addition of Fludroxycortide 4microgram/square cm tape 7.5cm (50cm) into category ‘C’ of Part VIIIA of the Drug Tariff from December 2020.
Prescriptions for the 50cm size tape dispensed between December 2020 and February 2020 will be reimbursed at the manufacturer’s (Typharm Ltd) list price of £18.75.
“The March 2021 Drug Tariff will be updated with a listing for this product in Part VIIIA and pharmacy contractors suggested to note that the changes above are not reflected in the published February 2021 Drug Tariff,” the pharmacy negotiator said.
