Holland & Barrett joins PAGB as retailer regulatory member

As part of PAGB, Holland & Barrett gains access to expert guidance and support on regulatory matters

Holland & Barrett, the UK’s leading wellness retailer, has become the latest retailer regulatory member of PAGB, the consumer healthcare association.

PAGB represents the manufacturers of branded over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, self care medical devices and food supplements in the UK.

Holland & Barrett's decision to PAGB follows its recent introduction of a selected range of OTC and healthcare products in its stores across the UK. These include painkillers, cough and cold medicines, children’s health essentials, hay fever relief, as well as skin and gastrointestinal products.

With this expansion, the retailer aims to not only help customers to stay well, but also provide relief when needed.

As part of PAGB, Holland & Barrett gains access to expert guidance and support on regulatory matters.

Commenting on the partnership, John Miller, Group Technical & Sourcing Director - International at Holland & Barrett, said: “At Holland & Barrett we have a long-standing history in the wellness space, backed by our own research, data and insights, and we’re continually striving to ensure that our consumer healthcare offer represents best practice.

“PAGB’s expert guidance and support in the sector will be invaluable in helping us to keep ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape.”

Michelle Riddalls, CEO at PAGB, welcomed Holland & Barrett's membership, emphasising the company's esteemed reputation in health, wellness, and self-care in the UK.

She noted that PAGB is eager to collaborate with Holland & Barrett to “amplify the impact of their business and their voice in the consumer healthcare sector.”

“We’re pleased also to be able to provide our expert advice and guidance to support Holland & Barrett with self-regulation, in addition to advocating on behalf of the industry through our work influencing government and policy and promoting self-care,” she added.
