Superdrug partners with Gophr for delivery of prescriptions across the UK

Superdrug partners with Gophr for delivery of prescriptions across the UK

Pharmaceutical delivery is becoming increasingly important, especially after the launch of Pharmacy First

Leading health and beauty retailer Superdrug on Monday announced that it has selected on-demand delivery network Gophr to provide its pharmacy delivery service, following a rigorous Request for Information (RFI) process.

This means Gophr will be responsible for delivering prescriptions across the UK to people who choose Superdrug to provide their medication.

Superdrug's decision to choose Gophr was influenced significantly by the latter’s strong Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), its adept ability to track and trace all home deliveries digitally from store to door, and its commitment to offering a best-in-class doorstep experience.

According to the retailer, multiple layers of protection are implemented during delivery to uphold standards, ensuring that prescription medicines are handed directly to the intended recipients.

Graham Smith, strategic account director at Gophr, highlighted the growing importance of pharmaceutical delivery, especially as pharmacists are now able to provide even more services under Pharmacy First scheme.

“Vulnerable patients often cannot visit the pharmacy in person to pick up essential medication, while those who are perhaps time-poor, cannot regularly visit the high street. Gophr is perfectly placed to offer Superdrug patients an unrivalled delivery service,” he said.

“Our online tracking and transparent system, along with robust SOPs, will ensure compliance levels are high at all times - key for a successful pharmacy partnership,” he added.

Superdrug’s healthcare director, Ghada Beal emphasised that patients want a “fast, easy and convenient” way to manage and order their medication and have it delivered to them safely and efficiently.

“Gophr’s extensive network of professional couriers and real-time tracking information enables us to support patients within local communities, delivering best-in-class service to them,” he added.
