The Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA) has appointed Mark DasGupta as its director of Professional Development.


DasGupta will drive forward the PDA's training initiatives, equipping members to handle the pharmacy sector's rapid changes with skill and assurance.

A veteran pharmacist with deep roots in clinical practice, leadership, and education, DasGupta serves as honorary professor of Primary Care Pharmacy at Aston University.

He was the clinical director for NHS Birmingham and Solihull, where he partnered with pharmacists across settings to advance lifelong learning, reflective practice, and patient-focused care.

The hire signals PDA's dedication to nurturing pharmacists from entry-level to executive roles.

Regarding his appointment, DasGupta said, “I am delighted to be joining the PDA at such an important time for the profession.
