Sandford Pharmacy in Dorset was recently sold to a first-time buyer for an undisclosed price, according to Christie & Co.
Located on St Helens Road in the village of Sandford, the pharmacy dispenses an average of 7,000 prescription items per month. It also provides services such as Pharmacy First, New Medicine Service (NMS), and flu vaccinations.
Sandford Pharmacy was previously owned by Everyou Health Limited, a small regional group operating three other pharmacies.
The former owner, Tirath Dosanj, decided to bring the pharmacy to market as part of a strategic review of the group’s portfolio.
It has been purchased by AMB Pharma Ltd, owned by Anna Mielczarek, who will be managing the day-to-day operations.
She will be supported by her business partner, Madhu Bhogadi, who already owns a pharmacy.
Christie & Co senior business agent Richard Thomas, who facilitated the sale process, said, “We were delighted to bring to market Sandford pharmacy on behalf of Tirath and very quickly received several expressions of interest before agreeing a sale to Anna and Madhu. All parties worked tirelessly to reach a completion and a good outcome for all."
Bhogadi said, “I have worked in the area as a locum Pharmacist until I bought my first pharmacy two years ago. When Sandford Pharmacy came to market, I could see a lot of potential for growth.
"This is a difficult time for pharmacy owners as we are facing the perfect storm of financial, operational, and workforce challenges; however, we will be diversifying the revenue stream at Sandford Pharmacy by introducing more private services, improving efficiencies and the customer experience.”
